When you’re in Pokhara, paragliding is hard to miss. You’ll see gliders in the sky almost every morning, and every second shop 🏪 in the market offers packages for it.
We booked ours from a local shop a day before - super easy and no advance payment.
The deal included everything:

🚐 Pickup from the shop
🏞️ Ride to Sarangkot (the take-off point)
🪂 The flight itself
🎥 Photos & videos
🚖 Drop-off after landing
No need to plan this weeks ahead. Just keep one clear morning in your trip, and you’re good to go!
On the day of our flight, we reached the shop in the morning, signed a quick form, and hopped into a van that took us to Sarangkot ⛰️, the paragliding take-off point.
As we waited for our turn, the excitement turned into nervous laughter 😅.
The pilot gave simple instructions:
“Run. Don’t stop running. Even if your feet leave the ground - just keep going.”
Sounds easy? Well…
Gitanshu’s take-off failed twice 😬 - he paused just a little after lifting, and that’s all it takes to stop the glide.
But third time’s the charm - and he was in the air!
Yogita took off in one go - smooth, steady, and straight into the sky. 🎉
It’s a little scary in the moment, but once you’re up there, it all fades away.
🚀 The Take-Off - Nerves, Fails & First Flight

Once you're in the air, all the nervousness disappears. It’s surprisingly calm up there, and for a few minutes, you just float in silence, soaking it all in.
Below you is the blue stretch of Phewa Lake 🌊, and ahead, the Annapurna ranges 🏔️. You can see the entire Pokhara city like a painting - it’s surreal.
Our flight lasted around 20-25 minutes, depending on the wind. Midway, the pilot asked if we wanted to try some aerobatic stunts 🎢.
We both said yes.
The stunts were fun - quick spins, swoops, and sharp dips - not too crazy, but definitely exciting.
Felt like riding a giant swing in the sky!
🏞️ The Flight - Peaceful Skies & Mountain Views

We booked directly from a local shop in Pokhara - no online payment or advance needed.
Here’s what the package included:
🚐 Pickup from the shop
🚙 Ride to Sarangkot (the take-off point)
🪂 Paragliding flight
🎥 Photos & videos shot on GoPro
🚖 Drop-off after landing
💰 Total cost:
7000 NPR for 2 people (flight + transport + media)
3000 NPR extra for both of us to try the aerobatic stunts 🎢
Our only complaint was about the video quality - it was a bit of a hit or miss.
While Gitanshu’s photos and videos came out great, Yogita’s footage looked dull and washed out, possibly due to incorrect camera settings on her pilot’s GoPro.
So if you're booking, you might want to ask about the camera setup or check sample videos - it makes a big difference when reliving the moment later.
🎥 What’s Included & How Much It Cost

🎯 Book locally in Pokhara - it’s cheaper and easier than online.
📸 Ask about the camera quality - not all pilots use the same settings.
🕘 Morning flights are usually smoother, with better views and less wind.
🧢 Wear comfy clothes, closed shoes, and avoid loose items during the flight.
💬 Listen carefully during the take-off briefing - it's the only tricky part.
😅 Even if you're nervous - do it anyway. The fear vanishes once you're in the air.
Paragliding in Pokhara is more than just an adventure - it’s peaceful, scenic, and something you’ll always remember.
💡 Tips & Final Thoughts
You don’t need to be brave. You just need to take that first run.
After that - you're flying. ✨
